There are a disproportionate number of minorities in our nation's prisons, young to middle age men of color; Blacks, Latinos and an increasing number of third world people who failed at the chance of achieving the American dreams. Most citizens see these men as little more than a micro glimpse or flash on the evening news or a forgotten headline from a tabloid or internet stream. Have you ever wondered what led these men to commit various types of criminal acts, against society and humanity? "Redemption songs: Prisoner's letters to the youth" touches on the issues that stem from criminal behavior and thinking such as dysfunctional families, addictions and peer-pressure. Experience the journey of a few courageous men who are willing to share their stories detailing why, and who, and most importantly how their absence effects and changes a home, the community and the world. These are such stories... Stories to inspire our youth.
